Reverend Father Hacked To Death By Son in Delta State

An Anglican bishop Reverend Isaac Umurie has been hacked to death by his son named Ufuoma at Okpare town, in Ughelli south local government area of Delta state.

The gory incident which happened on Wednesday morning, had the late bishops wife and mother escaping death by the whiskers.

According to community sources, the son is said to be mentally deranged and have been attempting to take the life of his father before he succeeded in killing him in his sleep by macheting him severally and mutilating the skull and several parts of the body.

The suspect has since been arrested by the Otu-Jeremi police divisional headquarters where he is said to be cooling off his feet. Reacting to the gruesome murder, the Delta police spokesperson Edafe Bright said the suspect would be investigated and prosecuted accordingly.
